This expedition was the toughest of my career. Starting in September was fine for enjoying the fall colours and cool bugfree travelling. But by the time Bob and I were making our way through the snow-covered Kwadacha wilderness in mid-October, such a late start seemed to be not such an inspired choice! But the challenge was accepted nonetheless.

THE CORDILLERA: the parallel mountain ranges of the Canadian Cordillera are part of the western backbone of North America. The Rockies are just one part of the Cordillera: rising to the east of the great Rocky Mountain trench. The latter was a natural halfway point for the “Cordillera Crossing” expedition.
